Help us create a safe, welcoming space for animals in need — your donation goes directly toward building costs.

Phase 1 Remodel Happening Now!

The Harrison County Humane Society operates entirely through foster homes; the Humane Society depends 100% on community donations to continue its work.

Recently, the organization was given the opportunity to finance a building at 106 Eastport St., Scio, OH 43988. This is an exciting and hopeful step toward creating a permanent space for operations. While due to size the space is not intended to serve as a full shelter, it will be a critical hub for vaccine clinics, adoption meet-and-greets, donation drop-offs, supply storage, animal bathing stations, and a small quarantine area for new or sick intakes before they enter foster care

The building is not inhabitable as is and needs several essential upgrades, including:

  • A functional furnace

  • Water heater

  • A working toilet

  • Fence repairs

  • Kennels

  • Wall additions to safely separate dogs and cat and more...
